Hace ya unas semanas durante la serie de post sobre segmentación de redes, mencione la posibilidad de asociar interfaces físicas generando una sola interfaz lógica, nueva funcionalidad introducida en Windows Server 2012 de manera nativa.
La configuración es bastante sencilla, voy a usar Microsoft Windows Server technical preview. La configuración en Windows Server 2012 es exactamente idéntica.
La configuración esta accesible desde el Server Manager en el apartado de Servidor local, en este, justo encima de la información correspondiente a las tarjetas de red, encontramos la opción NIC Teaming desahabilitada.
Simplemente con clicar en deshabilitado daremos paso al asistente de configuración de esta funcionalidad.
Una vez dentro del asistente, en el desplegable correspondiente al apartado adaptadores e interfaces, teniendo seleccionada una de nuestras interfaces, nos dará la opción de agregarla a un nuevo teaming.
Ahora se nos dará la opción de seleccionar que interfaces deseamos agregar a nuestro teaming, simplemente deberemos seleccionarlas, también deberemos introducir el nombre que daremos al team. Este nombre será también usado para crear el adaptador de red lógico, este podremos configurarlo como todos desde el centro de redes y recursos compartidos de nuestro servidor.
Si desplegamos las propiedades adicionales veremos los siguiente.
Estas propiedades adicionales nos permitirán seleccionar si deseamos que los dos adaptadores estén activos o, si nuestro team está más orientado a proporcionar una solución failover, cuál de ellos está en espera y cual se hace cargo de las funciones de red. Así como el modo de balanceo que deseamos y el tipo de teaming. Como podéis ver, algunas opciones no son aplicables cuando se trata de máquinas virtuales. Una vez seleccionadas las opciones pertinentes, aceptamos y ya tenemos nuestro NIC teaming funcionando.
Siempre podemos acceder a la configuración del team y modificarla, ya sea para agregar nuevas interfaces, cambiar su modo de trabajo, etcétera.
