Hace poco tiempo tuve el placer de ser despertado de una placentera siesta abrazado al mando del televisor por un amigo altamente alterado, su pc le estaba pidiendo que insertase el disco de instalación, pero su súper pc con procesador I7, 16 gigas de RAM, discos SSD, etcétera tenía un pequeño problema…. No tenía lector de cd/ dvd / blue ray ¡¡WTF!!
Hoy en día es más que habitual encontrarnos con este problema, dada la evolución de las unidades de almacenamiento extraíble, podemos encontrar pendrive y discos externos que nos ofrecen unas capacidades de almacenamiento muy superiores a las de un cd o dvd, así como velocidades de lectura/escritura muy superiores. Todo esto está haciendo que cierto tipo de equipos ya no vengan con una unidad óptica de fábrica. También es más que probable que ni siquiera dispongamos del cd de instalación de Windows, hoy en día, el fabricante ya se encarga de darnos una partición de recuperación desde la que restaurar nuestro equipo a valores de fábrica. Pero cuando tienes un disco SSD de 256 gigas esa partición ocupa espacio y más de uno la elimina, o también se puede dar el caso de no querer hacer uso de este tipo de recovery, ya que en la mayoría de los casos, nos formateara la partición del sistema y perderemos todo lo que tengamos almacenado en esta.
Entonces ¿cómo podemos insertar el disco de instalación en casos como este? es muy sencillo, vamos a hacer que un pendrive se convierta en nuestro cd de instalación. Para llevar a cabo nuestra tarea vamos a hacer uso de Diskpart.
Diskpart es una herramienta por línea de comandos incluida en los sistemas operativos Windows, esta nos permite realizar múltiples tareas relacionadas con las unidades de almacenamiento, ya sean físicas o virtuales, es decir esta herramienta nos permite trabajar tanto con HDD físicos como virtuales VHDD, estos últimos en sus formatos VHD y el nuevo introducido con Windows 8 y Windows Server 2012 VHDX. Permitiéndonos, entre otras, montar, formatear y particionar unidades de almacenamiento. Podemos acceder a ella desde el sistema operativo, desde las herramientas de recuperación de Windows o desde WindowsPE.
Lo primero es hacer que nuestra BIOS reconozca nuestro pendrive como una unidad de arranque, para ello debe tener al menos una partición activa. Aquí os voy a mostrar el proceso completo para formatear, particionar en NTFS y marcar como activa la partición del pendrive, pero si vuestro pendrive ya está particionado y con los archivos dentro, solo deberéis marcar la partición como activa.
Para acceder a diskpart solo deberemos abrir ejecutar con la combinación de teclas “Tecla Windows + R” e introducir diskpart.
Una vez dentro de la herramienta si deseáis hacer uso de la ayuda solo deberéis introducir ? y os listara todos los comandos, si deseáis ayuda sobre un comando especifico introducir el comando seguido de ?.
Lo primero que debemos haces es identificar nuestro pendrive entre todas las unidades. Para ver las unidades disponibles haremos uso del comando list, el cual nos mostrara un listado de lo que deseemos, en primer paso, deberemos ver las unidades, así que introduciremos list disk, con lo que se nos presentaran las unidades montadas en el equipo.
En mi caso podemos identificar el pendrive como Disco 4 con una capacidad de 8 gigas. Para seleccionar este haremos uso del comando select seguido de la unidad, es decir, select disk 4. El disco seleccionado podremos identificarlo en cualquier momento, ya que si volvemos a listar los discos aparecerá un asterisco a la izquierda del disco seleccionado.
Ahora deberemos hacer lo mismo para seleccionar la partición del pendrive, listaremos las particiones con list partition y seleccionaremos la correspondiente con select partition. En el caso de las particiones también nos identificara la partición seleccionada con el asterisco.
Una ver seleccionado nuestro pendrive y su partición, borraremos esta con clean, para luego crear una nueva partición primaria con create partition primary y posteriormente formatearla con format, el modificador FS= nos permitirá seleccionar el tipo de formato de archivos, en mi caso he seleccionado NTFS y el ultimo modificador quick nos servirá para que haga un formateo rápido. Y por último marcaremos la partición como activa con Active.
Pues bien, ya tenemos preparado nuestro pendrive, ahora solo queda coger la ISO de nuestro Windows y copiarla en la raíz del pendrive.
Una vez copiada solo tenemos que arrancar el equipo y en las opciones de arranque seleccionar nuestro pendrive que aparecerá normalmente como USB DRIVE.
